Hola!
this week was a week of service for sure. We did a lot of service
projects, a lot of cleaning homes and a lot of yard work in the hot hot
sun. ANNND we found a few new investigators i just LOVE.
alright, last monday we went to ranch
market after working out and bought horchata. it was a joke since i
drank about half of it and was sooo full i didn't drink the rest-but way
good! And I practiced my spanish with some of the mexicans there.
so my companions aren't big on working out...at ALL. I started getting pretty frustrated and then one day we were at the church building for sister soifua to practice a musical number and i started doing crunches....and then i realized the church we were in was only like a mile and a half away from our house so i decided to run home. they drove behind me or i ran right behind the car...in my skirt. only a few dogs chased me and it felt so much better! Now whenever we get to the neighborhoods at night i get out and run all the way home.
this is the seal of the pima maricopa community. everyone has a different path but ultimately we all find God. I really like it, it's a great little symbol and it's EVERYWHERE in the community.
so sister soifua is practicing for a fireside...and
because she's practicing i end up doing the paperwork every night with
sister snodgress...so. fun. (brinkadera)
like i said, we
did a lot of service projects...A LOT. People on the res just throw
their stuff everywhere and there is a lot of trash out in the fields. we
started cleaning up these fields and thought the things we were finding
were so funny, we had a little fun while doing the service! all items
were found within a 10 foot radius of where me and elder francis are
standing.
sometimes we feel like creepers because we stake out inactive people's
homes until we KNOW they are there. this particular case was a woman who
wouldn't answer the door....needless to say, we got in and taught her
and she was in church on sunday.
oh yes. so late. sorry! this is out in a field
randomly and we think it's a great way to stereotype our indians. just
kidding. they don't paint their faces all the time. also, i'm doing the
sign for "indian" out here. how racist is that?!
love you all,
sister mad
