SATURDAY - January 26, 2013

dear blog readers,

it rained all weekend long. and we were cold. and wet.

Thunderstorms here in BH are very different than anything I have ever seen-all of a sudden out of no where there is a huge bomb sounding explosion and then the rain just POURS all over the place. its crazy and exciting...when you are in doors. Unfortunately sister sackley got stuck in the rain with a bad rain coat this weekend (note to missionaries-buy a rain coat and then take a shower in it. If the water seeps through...it is a bad raincoat).

Tonight we met Douglas. Douglas is an old investigator that sisters taught a few months ago. he is a sweet kid-27 years old and after almost a year of being in a wheel chair, he is up and walking. Douglas was involved in a shooting last may in which one of the drug dealer dudes shot him through the side. Miraculously Douglas lived and now his life is totally different and he is open to the gospel and changing old habbits.

We are hoping to baptize him the 3rd. He accepted thinking and pondering and praying...but no baptism this week.

We ended the night with the realization we wouldnt be having a baptism this week...also with the realizaiton more than anything we want to change this ward and help it really PROGRESS, you kinow...with less actives and baptizing part time families.

We prayed tonight just to hope for muito gente in the church and a lot of menos ativos too.
